Job Description:
Work at the Westin Miyako Hotel Kyoto (ウェスティン都ホテル京都), a luxury hotel founded in 1890 set in the natural surroundings of Higashiyama, Kyoto, 2 minutes from Keage Station. New starters begin with guest room cleaning -- bathroom cleaning, toilet cleaning, bed making (ベッドメイキング beddo-meikingu), and rubbish removal -- then progress to the room inspector role, checking completed rooms for overlooked rubbish, hair, and missing amenities, and directing the cleaning team to rooms in checkout order. There is no direct guest interaction, making this ideal for those looking to move away from customer-facing work while still contributing to the guest experience. Two shift options are available: 10:00-15:00 (4.5 hours, for those starting with cleaning) or 09:00-16:15 (6.5 hours, for experienced checkers); 3 or more days per week with a monthly shift-request system. Weekday rate is 1,300 yen (or 1,150 yen during training); weekend and public holiday rate is 1,400 yen (or 1,250 yen during training). Hair colour is free within reasonable limits; a uniform and personal locker are provided.
Wage:
1,150円 (per hour)
Post-training weekday rate: 1,300円/hr. Weekend and public holiday rate: 1,400円/hr (post-training); 1,250円/hr (training). Annual salary increase available.
