Job Description:

Prepare the self-service breakfast buffet at a Toyoko Inn business hotel in central Hiroshima. Duties are plating and laying out bread and salad, refilling dishes as they run low, washing up and cleaning the kitchen, with no cooking at all. Nothing here needs knife skills or heavy lifting, so it works like an extension of everyday housework and people with no experience pick it up quickly. Almost all the current staff started with no experience, and the team ranges from people in their 20s to their 60s with a friendly atmosphere. Guests are mostly business travellers, though some are from overseas. Shifts are early morning only, from 3 hours a day and 2 days a week, with no overtime and finishing by 10:00. An early-morning allowance (早朝手当 souchou-teate) adds 50 yen for every 30 minutes worked between 05:00 and 07:00, bringing the rate to 1,260円 for those hours. Transport allowance (交通費 koutsuuhi) is paid up to 50,000 yen, and there is a one-month training period (研修 kenshuu) with no change to pay.
