Job Description:
Sell cakes, breads, prepared foods and gifts at Gargantua, the hotel shop on the first floor of the Imperial Hotel Plaza in Tokyo. Duties are explaining products to customers, working the register, restocking cakes, bread and prepared dishes, and handling gift dispatch. The shop opened in 1971 around the idea of bringing the Imperial Hotel's flavours home, and stocks items made with the chefs' skill alongside seasonal gifts. Despite being part of a first-class hotel the shop has a bright, easy atmosphere. Two shift patterns are used, an early shift 09:00 to 17:15 and a late shift 12:15 to 20:30, each with 7 hours 30 minutes of actual work and a one hour break. You work 3 to 5 days a week on a shift system including weekends and public holidays, though taking one weekend day off or alternate weekends can be discussed. Transport allowance (交通費 koutsuuhi) is paid in full and full social insurance is provided.
