Job Description:
Hall and dishwashing work at Saifuku, a long-established Chinese restaurant in Baraki-Nakayama. Duties include cleaning the restaurant, seating customers, taking orders, making drinks, serving, clearing tables, register work and washing up. The restaurant is run by Japanese chefs, so there is no language barrier or cultural gap to worry about. Current staff are five university students, one high school student and three homemakers, and most started with no restaurant experience at all. It is a popular local spot that has been covered by the media and is visited by professional baseball players. Shifts are lunch service 10:30 to 15:00 or dinner service 17:00 to 22:00, from 1 day a week and 4.5 hours, and you can sometimes finish early when the restaurant is quiet. People who can work Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays are given preference, and those days pay a higher rate. Authentic Chinese staff meals (まかない makanai) are provided and can be taken home.
Wage:
1,150円～1,200円 (per hour)
Weekdays pay 1,150円 per hour and Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays pay 1,200円 per hour. High school student rates vary. Ability-based pay and pay raises are available. A training period applies at the start. Monthly earnings are around 62,000円 for a lunch shift of 4.5 hours 3 days a week, or around 70,000円 for a dinner shift of 5 hours 3 days a week.
