Job Description:

This is a condominium building caretaker and cleaning role in Tsukiji 6-chome, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, 5 minutes walk from Tsukiji-shijo Station on the Toei Oedo Line and 8 minutes from Tsukiji Station on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line. Tasks follow a structured daily routine: morning building inspection and rubbish disposal, cleaning of shared areas (entrance, corridors, staircases, windows, rubbish collection points, post boxes, elevators, and car park), responding to resident and visitor enquiries at the reception desk, preparing for the next day's rubbish disposal, and writing a brief daily report. The mix of focused solo cleaning and occasional resident interaction provides a steady, varied workday without physical strain. Full manuals and on-the-job training are provided; the role can be learned quickly even with no prior building management experience. After a minimum of 4 months as a dispatch worker, a switch to direct employment as a contract employee is possible (hourly rate from 1,300 yen; retirement age 72), making this a stable long-term income source particularly suited to those in their 50s, 60s, and 70s.
