Job Description:

This is a cleaning and optional front desk role at Kangaroo Hotel, a Good Design Award-winning guesthouse in Nihon-dote, Taito-ku, Tokyo, with around 70% of guests being international visitors. Two role options are available: cleaning only (10:00-14:00, bed-making, room cleaning, bathroom, laundry, and general housekeeping), or a combined shift adding front desk duties (16:00-19:00, check-in, reservations, phone response, and parcel reception). The front desk is a one-person setup between arrivals — calm and seated work — while cleaning suits those who prefer focused, independent tasks. English ability is a strong plus for front desk work and will naturally develop through daily guest interaction with international travellers. Wage is paid by hand cash (手渡し tewatashi), and after one year the rate can rise to 1,500円/hour. Zero-shift weeks are accommodated when life gets busy, making this one of the most flexible arrangements available.
