Job Description:
Work at Sawayaka Kakegawa Honten, the flagship location of Sawayaka — a beloved Shizuoka-based charcoal-grilled hamburger restaurant chain with a cult following across the region and beyond. Each shift you are assigned to a single position — hall service, serving, or kitchen — rather than switching between tasks, which keeps the pace manageable even during busy lunch and dinner services. Hall staff take orders, serve food, and handle the register. Kitchen staff handle plating and dishwashing. Each role has a skill-based promotion ladder: reaching new milestones (such as being able to cut and serve a hambagu steak tableside, or earning a server or kitchen trainer certification) triggers a pay increase. Shifts run from 09:00 to 23:00, from 4 hours and 2 days a week, with a monthly shift submission. Weekend and public holiday shifts carry a 100-yen-per-hour bonus; busy-period (繁忙手当 hanbou-teate) shifts add a further 100-yen bonus on top, making the maximum rate 1,500 yen/hour. The 22:00-23:00 window also carries a 25% deep-night premium. Staff can eat restaurant menu items at half price during breaks or after their shift — including the famous genkotsu hambagu. Minimum contract period of 3 months. High school students must have school permission and may work until 21:00 only. Late-night hours 22:00-05:00 are for applicants aged 18 and over only (Japanese labour law).
Wage:
1,300円 (per hour) Weekend and public holiday bonus (土日祝手当 doyoubi-nichiyoubi-shukujitsu-teate): +100 yen/hour (= 1,400 yen/hour). Busy-period allowance (繁忙手当 hanbou-teate): additional +100 yen/hour — stackable with weekend bonus (maximum 1,500 yen/hour). Late-night allowance (深夜手当 shinya-teate): 25% increase from 22:00 (= approx. 1,625 yen/hour on weekday base). Salary increases (昇給 shoushou): 20-100 yen per review, several times per year, based on skill certification milestones.
