Job Description:
Work at Sumigin Kita-Yono Bekkan, a popular yakiniku and izakaya (居酒屋) restaurant in Saitama City, just 2 minutes from Kita-Yono Station on the JR Saikyo Line — a well-loved local spot that has been running since 1995 and is known for its friendly team culture and delicious staff meals. Because guests grill their own meat, kitchen staff focus on marinating and preparing meat rather than cooking it through; there is no heavy grill work. Hall staff begin with seating guests and clearing tables, then progress to serving, register operation, and the restaurant's signature activity: a janken (rock-paper-scissors) game played with customers when they order drinks. The restaurant has an actively social team culture with annual events including a summer festival, Christmas party, and New Year gathering. Shifts run 17:00-23:30, from 3 hours and 2 days a week, with a bi-monthly self-submission schedule. Must be able to work at least one of Friday, Saturday, or Sunday — this is a firm requirement. Friday and Saturday shifts carry a +50-yen-per-hour weekend bonus; deep-night hours from 22:00 carry a 25% premium (深夜手当 shinya-teate). Pay is handed over in cash (現金手渡し tewatashi). A fixed-wage quasi-employee scheme is available for those who want to commit to set days and hours. Foreigners are welcome with Japanese proficiency at JLPT N2 level or above.
Wage:
1,230円 (per hour)
Experienced kitchen staff (2+ years) or cooking licence holders: 1,330 yen/hour base (training 1,280 yen/hour). Training rate (approx. 120 hours): 1,150 yen/hour (from October 2026: 1,200 yen/hour). Late-night allowance (深夜手当 shinya-teate): 25% increase from 22:00. Friday and Saturday bonus: +50 yen/hour. Busy period bonus: +100 yen/hour. Salary increases (昇給 shoushou) — some experienced staff earn 1,400 yen/hour or more. Friend referral bonus at 3 months.
