Job Description:
Work as a kimono-wearing hall service staff member at Isago-ya, a kappo (割烹 — high-end Japanese cuisine) restaurant hidden in Roppongi, Tokyo, 5 minutes walk from Roppongi Station on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line. The restaurant seats 30 in a fully non-smoking space, with a per-customer spend of 20,000-30,000 yen — a refined and quiet environment where service and hospitality are taken seriously. Hall staff wear authentic formal kimono (制服 seifuku) and receive proper kimono dressing instruction (着付け kitsuke) as part of training — a rare skill to acquire in a part-time role. Duties include guiding guests to seats, explaining the menu, taking orders, serving food and drink, and handling payment. Sundays and public holidays are off. Shifts start from 17:00 (or later from 18:00-19:00 if needed) and run to around 22:30-23:00, from 4 hours and 3 days per week. Pay is handed over in cash (現金手渡し tewatashi). The training rate is 1,500 yen/hour for approximately 80-100 hours; after that the base rises to 1,600 yen/hour, with further salary increases of 50-100 yen every six months. Part-time staff who work for 1 year or more receive a bonus twice yearly based on hours contributed.
