Job Description:

This is a hall and kitchen staff role at Sakagura Chikara Kyu-Nakasendo, a retro-style Showa-era (昭和レトロ Showa-retoro) mass-market izakaya (大衆酒場 taishuu-sakaba) a 3-minute walk from Omiya Station in Saitama City, part of a group of 10+ locations that has been operating for over 50 years. Hall duties include guiding guests, taking orders, serving food, clearing tables, and handling payment. Kitchen duties start with simple salad plating and cleaning. There are no strict manuals — the style is relaxed and hands-on, with senior staff and regular customers alike helping newcomers settle in quickly. Three pay tiers apply: base rate 1,250 yen (15:00-18:00), evening rate 1,350 yen (18:00-22:00), and late-night rate 1,563 yen (22:00 onwards). Shifts run until midnight, which is overnight. Weekend and public holiday shifts are available from 13:00. Staff meals (まかない makanai) are provided daily and vary — curry, stew, pasta and more, not just yakitori. Hair colour, nail art, and piercings are permitted. Foreign nationals are welcome provided Japanese proficiency is JLPT N2 level or equivalent. High school students: final-year students with a job offer confirmed may apply; 22:00 onwards is not available to high school students.

Wage:

1,250円 (per hour) Evening rate (18:00-22:00): 1,350円. Late-night rate (22:00 onwards): 1,563円. Salary increase available (one staff member gained +100 yen within a year). High school students: 1,141円 across all hours.
