Job Description:

This is a teppanyaki (鉄板焼き teppan-yaki) cooking staff role at a restaurant inside a historic, well-known hotel in Kyoto's Higashiyama district, a 2-3 minute walk from Keage Station on the Kyoto Municipal Subway Tozai Line. Tasks include food preparation and mise en place, teppanyaki cooking and plating in front of guests at the live grill counter, food inventory management and ordering, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness and hygiene. The position requires prior teppanyaki cooking experience from a hotel or restaurant — hotel industry experience is not required. Two shift options are available: 11:00-20:00 and 12:30-21:30 (each 8 hours actual work with 1 hour break). Minimum 4 days per week including weekend and public holiday shifts. The schedule follows a 2-3 rest days per week pattern. Rate starts at 1,600 yen for those with restaurant experience and rises to 1,700 yen for those with hotel teppanyaki experience. Overtime and late-night premiums are paid at statutory rates. Staff canteen meals are available at 390 yen per meal. Every 3 months a coordinator check-in ensures working conditions remain satisfactory.
