Job Description:

This is a teppanyaki cooking role at a long-established hotel restaurant in the Higashiyama area of Kyoto, where you will prepare and plate dishes live in front of guests in an upscale dining setting. Duties include food preparation and mise en place, teppanyaki cooking and plating, ingredient stock control and ordering, and kitchen cleaning — prior teppanyaki experience from any hotel or restaurant background is required before applying. Shifts run across two rotating slots (11:00-20:00 or 12:30-21:30) on a 4-to-5-day-a-week schedule including weekends, and availability on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday is required. A staff canteen (社員食堂 shain-shokudo) is available at 390円 per meal, making it one of the more practical staff benefits on offer. Starting rate is 1,600円 for those without hotel experience; those with hotel restaurant experience may start at 1,700円 depending on background and years worked. The dispatch agency conducts follow-up interviews every 3 months to check on your progress and wellbeing at the site.
