Job Description:
This is a hall service staff role at a high-end Japanese restaurant (日本料理 nihon-ryouri) in Hakata-ku, Fukuoka, 1 minute walk from Hakata Station, serving guests at formal occasions such as engagement ceremonies (結納 yuino), family introductions (お顔合わせ okao-awase), and corporate entertainment (接待 settai). The restaurant is calm and unhurried — nothing like a typical izakaya — so each shift involves attentive, unhurried hospitality: welcoming guests in a kimono (着物 kimono), taking orders, serving food and drinks at the right moment, and clearing and resetting tables. A full training programme starts with a day-one orientation covering restaurant rules, service etiquette, and menu knowledge, followed by OJT (OJT研修 OJT-kenshuu) where a senior staff member guides you through kimono dressing (着付け kitsuke) and correct tray-carrying technique (お盆の持ち方 obon-no-mochi-kata) from day two — all skills you can carry into daily life and your professional career. Two shift slots are available and can be combined: a lunch slot (11:00-15:00) and a dinner slot (17:00-21:00), with a 4-hour minimum per slot; the full day (11:00-21:00 with 2 hours' break) is also available. Free staff meals (まかない makanai) are provided on every working day — the restaurant's own menu, not canteen food. Foreign applicants must hold JLPT N2 or above owing to the formal, guest-facing nature of the role.
