Job Description:
This is a teppanyaki (iron griddle) cooking role at a popular hotel restaurant in Higashiyama, Kyoto, 2-3 minutes walk from Keage Station — cooking directly in front of guests in an upscale open-kitchen setting. Tasks include food preparation and processing, teppanyaki cooking and plating, food management and ordering, and kitchen cleaning. Prior teppanyaki cooking experience at a hotel or restaurant is required; hotel experience itself is not required — your cooking skills are what matter here, and any background from general restaurants is fully applicable. The rate starts at 1,600 yen per hour for those without hotel experience and rises to 1,700 yen for those with hotel restaurant experience (exact rate determined based on years and scope of experience). Working 4 to 5 days a week including Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays is required — this role specifically requires weekend availability. A staff canteen provides meals for 390 yen each, and a 3-month coordinator follow-up system is in place throughout your placement.

Rate by experience: 1,600 yen (no hotel experience) to 1,700 yen (hotel restaurant experience). Monthly income example: 204,800 yen (16 days) or 268,800 yen (21 days) at 1,600 yen base.
