Job Description:
This is a kitchen staff position at Hamazushi Ashikaga Horikomi, a conveyor belt sushi chain restaurant opening in early December 2026 in Ashikaga, Tochigi — this is an opening staff recruitment of 80 people, with training starting in late November. Kitchen work involves placing toppings (neta) onto pre-shaped shari rice balls and loading the finished sushi onto the conveyor — no knife skills or sushi experience are needed as everything is standardised and taught step by step from the first shift. New starters begin simply by placing sushi made by senior staff onto the lane, with no pressure to make sushi independently from day one. A performance-based pay increase system (評価給 hyouka-kyuu) means your hourly rate rises as you progress through beginner, intermediate, and advanced stages in your position. An advance payment (前払い maebarai) system is available so you can receive a portion of earned wages before payday, subject to company rules. Weekends and public holidays earn an additional 70 yen per hour on top of the base rate, and late-night shifts from 22:00 receive a premium of 1,475 yen per hour. Shifts start from just 1 day per week and 2 hours per day, making this highly flexible — those under 18 are limited to shifts between 05:00 and 21:00. A meal discount of 55% off in-store menu items is available for staff, subject to company rules on shift length.
