Job Description:

This is a hall and kitchen staff role at Marugame Seimen Tachikawa Minamiguchi, a popular udon chain (うどん屋 udon-ya) located immediately outside the south exit of Tachikawa Station on the JR Chuo, Nanbu, and Ome lines in Tokyo. The shift window covers daytime and lunch hours only -- weekdays 09:00-18:00 and weekends and holidays 08:30-18:00 -- making this a morning-to-afternoon position with no evening or night work. Kitchen duties include boiling and plating udon to order, frying tempura using dedicated equipment, dishwashing, and keeping the cooking area clean; hall duties include welcoming guests, register operation, tray collection, and maintaining the dining area. No experience is required -- step-by-step training (研修 kenshuu) and a full recipe manual are provided, and shifts can be as short as 3 hours from just 1 day per week. Staff meals (まかない makanai) are available at 120 yen per meal up to 800 yen worth of food, and a family canteen card provides up to 10,000 yen per month for employees with children aged 15 and under. Transport allowance is paid up to 50,000 yen per month within company guidelines; bicycle commuting is also possible. A minimum contract of 3 months is expected, with shift days and hours negotiable on a weekly basis. This role requires native-level or near-native Japanese communication skills for customer service.
