Job Description:

You will work as a cooking support staff member (chouri hojo 調理補助) at a nursery school in Hachioji, Tokyo, preparing lunch and snacks for the children and staff using seasonal ingredients in child-friendly recipes. Duties include cooking assistance and food prep (vegetable cutting, etc.), plating and serving support, and cleaning and tidying the kitchen - no overtime or take-home work is involved. The kitchen atmosphere is friendly and questions are always welcome; the team is known for good working relationships and popular, well-loved school lunches. The shift is a fixed 08:30-17:00 weekday schedule, with 4 to 5 days per week preferred. Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays are off. A cooking licence (chourishi menkyosho 調理師免許) or nutritionist licence (eiyoshi 栄養士) is required. Transport allowance is paid in full; the rate adjusts between 1,650 and 1,700 yen depending on the commuting distance and allowance claimed.
