Job Description:
This is a kitchen support role at a seafood izakaya (居酒屋 izakaya) in the Susukino entertainment district of Sapporo, one minute from Susukino Station. You will start with easy tasks such as plating and dishwashing (洗い場 araiba) and gradually take on fish preparation, knife skills, and cooking assistance — practical skills that carry over into everyday cooking. Shifts run from the afternoon through to 03:00 the following morning, and a staff meal (まかない makanai) is included on every shift day at just 200 yen per meal. The shift system (シフト制 shifuto-sei) is based on weekly submissions, making it easy to balance classes, a second job, or family commitments. From as little as one day a week and three hours per shift, this is a genuinely flexible arrangement suited to students who want to build long-term work experience for job hunting. Late-night shifts after 22:00 are open to applicants aged 18 and over only (Japanese labour law). A minimum contract period of 3 months is required. No resume needed.
