Job Description:
This is a hall, kitchen, and light social media posting role at Yamoto-Imo Ryori Gishi (やまといも料理ぎし), a media-featured tororo (とろろ tororo — grated Japanese yam) specialty restaurant in Saitama City's Kita Ward, beloved by regulars and food enthusiasts from across the country. Hall duties include taking orders, serving dishes, and general tidying; kitchen duties include simple cooking assistance; additionally staff are asked to take occasional photos or short videos of the food and shop for easy social media posting — no prior photography skill is needed. The restaurant has a calm, relaxed atmosphere quite unlike a typical noisy izakaya, with a wide range of customers from families to solo diners. Shifts are short evening slots — 18:00-21:00 or 19:00-22:00 — running 2 to 3 hours per session, making it very easy to combine with university, another job, or personal commitments; the restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Just 1 to 2 days per week is the normal schedule, with Saturday as one of the regular working days. Wages are paid cash in hand (手渡し tewatashi); daily payment (日払い hibarai) and weekly payment (週払い shuubarai) are also available. A free staff meal of tororo-don (とろろ丼 tororo-don — rice bowl topped with grated yam) is provided; hair colour, piercings, nail art, and beard are all accepted.
