Job Description:
Prepare and plate sushi as a kitchen crew member at Hamazushi (はま寿司 Hamazushi) Okayama Nishiichi, opening in early November. The main task is placing pre-shaped shari (シャリ shari — rice balls) topped with neta (ネタ neta — toppings) onto the conveyor lane; no professional knife skills are required to start. More experienced crew may also cut fish from block form (切り付け kirittsuke), but this is assigned based on aptitude. Orders arrive via touch-panel and are delivered to seats by a straight lane system, reducing direct customer interaction significantly. The store runs 09:00-00:00 with shifts from as short as 2 hours; working Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays is welcomed. Late-night shifts from 22:00 qualify for the deep-night allowance (深夜手当 shinya-teate) at 1,463円/hour; a weekend bonus of 70円/hour also applies on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Staff receive 55% off in-store menu items as a meal subsidy (食事補助 shokuji-hojokin). Applicants under 18 may work between 05:00 and 21:00 only; high school students require a school permission letter.
