Job Description:
This is a hall staff role at Nihon-ryori Jizake Yasube (安兵衛), a well-loved Japanese seafood izakaya in Nishi-Shinjuku, just 2 minutes on foot from Shinjuku Station, renowned for its 70+ varieties of regional sake (日本酒 nihonshu). Duties include seating guests, taking orders, serving dishes, dishwashing, and calling in customers; once familiar with the menu, staff also recommend sake pairings to guests. Shifts run from afternoon to late evening (ending by 23:45) from as few as 4 hours a day and 2 days a week; weekend-only scheduling is welcome, and the 2-weekly shift submission makes planning around study or other work easy. Wages are paid in cash by hand (給与手渡し kyuuyo-tewatashi) and a free staff meal is provided every shift — the food has been a highlight for current staff, especially those living alone. International students are welcome but must hold JLPT N1 or equivalent for smooth customer communication. Hair colour, nail art, and piercings are all permitted.
