Job Description:
This is a hall and kitchen support role at Okonomiyaki Chiyo, a family-run okonomiyaki restaurant that has been a local institution for 60 years in Ikuno Ward, Osaka City, just 3 minutes walk from Teradacho Station on the JR Osaka Loop Line. Hall staff handle guest seating, order taking, food and drink service, cashier duties, and clearing — dishes are cooked in the kitchen rather than at the table, so hall work stays straightforward. Kitchen support covers simple salad preparation, grilling gyoza, yakitori, and okonomiyaki under guidance. On the first day, starters only do dishwashing and table setting with no customer interaction — tasks are introduced one by one as confidence grows. Regular customers and families make up the core clientele, creating a calm, welcoming atmosphere that the owners describe as feeling like home. Cash in hand payment (手渡し tewatashi) is available. Salary increases each time you add a new skill. Weekends, public holidays, and major holiday periods attract a special higher rate based on ability. Minimum 2 days and 3 hours per week; shifts submitted every two weeks. No resume needed. High school students welcome.
