Job Description:
This is a hotel room cleaning and bed-making role at Nine Hours Smart Place Inn Kyoto Nijo Castle Horikawa, a Good Design Award-winning designer hotel in Kyoto's Nakagyo ward near Nijo Castle. Duties include bed-making, bathroom and wet-area cleaning, and general room upkeep — the building is newly constructed so the focus is on maintaining cleanliness rather than deep-cleaning. The shift runs 11:00-15:00, starting after school drop-off and finishing in time for the afternoon; as few as 2 days a week and 4 hours per day is accepted, making it ideal for homemakers balancing family commitments. The workplace has an unusually relaxed culture for a hotel: hair colour, nail art, piercings, beard, and accessories are all permitted, and staff are encouraged to suggest improvements to tools and working methods directly. No English or other language skills are required, though the hotel attracts many international guests. Training period is 120 hours at the same rate.
