This is a cooking staff role at a hotel restaurant in Higashiyama, Kyoto, just 3 minutes walk from Keage Station on the Subway Tozai Line — a traditional, established hotel in the eastern hills of Kyoto known for its hospitality culture. Duties cover Western and Japanese cuisine preparation including ingredient prep (仕込み shikomi), plating (盛込み morikomi), and counter-side cooking; the work is team-based with an emphasis on collaborative, guest-focused service. A cooking licence is not required provided you have practical cooking experience — this is an excellent opportunity for those looking to build a hotel cooking career or transition from other food service backgrounds. Three shift options rotate across the day: early morning (06:00-14:30), midday (10:00-18:30), and afternoon-to-evening (13:30-22:00), each with 7.5 hours of actual work and a 1-hour break.
