Job Description:

This is a Japanese prepared food (和惣菜 wa-souzai) cooking role in the back-of-house kitchen at Osaka Takashimaya department store, just 1 minute walk from Namba Station on the Nankai Line. Tasks include making deep-fried and grilled items and assembling bento boxes — staple home-style Japanese dishes such as nikujaga (meat and potato stew), hijiki seaweed, and teriyaki fish make up most of the menu, so those comfortable with everyday Japanese cooking will feel immediately at home. The kitchen operates with a team of around 3 people, and department store experience is not required — any prior cooking experience is sufficient to apply. The shift runs 07:00-16:00 (8 hours actual work, 1-hour break), finishing by 16:00 so your evenings are free; the schedule runs 4-5 days per week including weekends and public holidays. Daily payment (日払い hibarai) is available, and the Daimaru Matsuzakaya 10% shopping discount applies at all group department stores.
