Job Description:
Work at a popular yakitori restaurant in Sumiyoshi ward, Osaka, run by a friendly female owner. Hall duties cover showing customers to their seats, taking orders, serving food, handling payment and clearing tables. Kitchen duties are simple cooking assistance, making drinks and washing up, with the harder cooking handled by full-time staff. You start by shadowing a senior member of staff, and there are plenty of friendly regulars so the pace is comfortable. Two shift blocks are offered: 17:00 to 22:00 and 22:00 to 01:00, from 3 days a week and 4 hours a day. Shift requests are submitted every two weeks and the restaurant closes on Tuesdays and over the new year. Late-night hours after 22:00 pay 25 percent more, reaching 1,475円 per hour. Cash in hand (手渡し tewatashi) payment is available, staff meals (まかない makanai) are free, transport is fully covered, and hair colour, nails and piercings are all free.
