Job Description:
This is a hall and kitchen staff role at Tarumasa (樽正), a long-established family-style izakaya in Umeda, Osaka, operating for over 60 years, just 5 minutes walk from Nakazakicho Station on the Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line. The restaurant is frequented almost entirely by regular customers, creating a warm, relaxed environment where newcomers are welcomed patiently and can grow at their own pace. Hall duties include seating guests, taking orders by hand (no electronic handheld), and serving food and drinks — there is no cashier work. Kitchen duties cover cooking assistance and drink preparation. The store closes at 23:00 and Sundays and public holidays are fixed days off — rare for an izakaya — making this ideal for those who need guaranteed rest days and want to avoid late nights. A trial period of 1-3 months (approximately 100 hours, adjustable based on experience) applies at 1,250 yen before moving to the standard rate of 1,400 yen or above. A late-night supplement (深夜手当 shinya-teate) of 25% applies from 22:00. Wages are paid by hand in cash (手渡し tewatashi), free staff meals are provided, and hair colour, nail art, and piercings are all freely permitted within reason.
