Job Description:
Work as hall or kitchen staff at Yamashina Sakaba Kenmonroku, a lively izakaya just 1 minute walk from Yamashina Station in Kyoto, with a close-knit team of around 10 staff members who are mostly students from Kyoto and Shiga. Hall staff welcome guests, serve food and drinks, and provide warm customer service; kitchen staff start with plating and simple cooking assistance before progressing to a wider range of dishes. Staff meals are provided free and unlimited — a genuine perk that current staff make the most of every shift. Shifts run from 11:00 in two blocks through to midnight, with weekly schedule submission and a minimum of just 1 day and 3 hours per shift; even weeks with zero shifts are possible during exam periods. A training wage of 1,150 yen/hour applies for approximately the first 100 hours, after which the standard rate of 1,200 yen/hour or above applies. Foreign nationals and international students are actively welcome; hair colour, nails, piercings, and beards are all permitted.
