Job Description:

Work in the kitchen of a Japanese side-dish (和惣菜 wasozai) counter in the food hall of Osaka Takashimaya department store, 1 minute from Namba Station on the Nankai Line. Duties include cooking fried and grilled dishes, simmered home-style classics such as nikujaga (肉じゃが) and hijiki (ひじき), and fish teriyaki, then plating and preparing bento boxes -- familiar Japanese home-cooking scaled up in a professional department store kitchen setting. A team of around 3 staff work each shift, so the environment is collaborative and supportive; department store kitchen experience is not required if you have any prior cooking experience. The shift runs 07:00 to 16:00 (8 hours actual work with a 60-minute break), 4 to 5 days per week including weekends and public holidays on a roster basis, with a fixed 16:00 finish each day. Daily payment (日払い hibarai) is available through Dimple's payment system, and a Daimaru Matsuzakaya shopping discount (大丸松坂屋百貨店 10% OFF) is included as a staff benefit.
