Job Description:
Work as hall staff at a long-established kappo Japanese restaurant in Kagurazaka, Shinjuku. The role centres on serving food and looking after guests, with kimono worn for dinner service and samue for lunch. Kimono experience is not needed, as the obi is a ready-tied type and staff teach you how to put it on. Customers include well-known figures and older guests, so you naturally pick up manners and polite speech that carry over into job hunting. Two shift blocks are offered: lunch from 11:00 to 15:30 at 1,400円 and dinner from 17:00 to 22:30 at 1,500円. You can work from 2 days a week and 3 hours a day, with weekday-only or weekend-only patterns, and working through both blocks is welcomed. Applicants who can play shamisen or perform traditional Japanese arts receive better pay for dinner shifts. Cash in hand (手渡し tewatashi) same-day payment is available, staff meals (まかない makanai) are provided, and the restaurant is a 5 minute walk from Iidabashi Station.
Wage:
1,400円 (per hour) Dinner shifts from 17:00 to 22:30 pay 1,500円 or more per hour. Late-night allowance (深夜手当 shinya-teate) after 22:00. Better pay for applicants who can play shamisen or perform traditional Japanese arts. Salary increases available. Same rate during training.
