Job Description:
This is a hall and kitchen staff role at Hachidai Aoi Cafe (8代葵カフェ) in Tsukuba, Ibaraki, a popular local cafe known for its coffee and pancakes. Duties include preparing drinks, making pancakes and other light dishes, serving customers, and general cafe upkeep — tasks are divided clearly between hall and kitchen so you can start in the area that suits you best. The cafe has an informal, family-like atmosphere and experienced senior staff are always on hand to teach newcomers from scratch, making it a comfortable first job. Shifts run within the 07:00-21:00 window with a minimum of 3 hours, and you can work as few as 2 days a week — easily fitted around school timetables, childcare, or another job. A weekend and public holiday wage increase applies (土日祝時給UP doyou-nichiyou-shuku-jikyuu-appu): general staff earn 1,200 yen or above on those days. A late-night supplement (深夜手当 shinya-teate) of 25% above the base rate applies for any hours worked from 22:00 onward. Staff meals are available at 50% off for shifts of 5 hours or more.
