Job Description:
Work as hall or kitchen staff at Bando Taro, a Japanese family restaurant in Tsukuba, on the lunch shift. Hall duties are seating guests, serving tea, taking orders on a handy terminal, delivering food using a cart, handling the register and clearing tables, so there is no heavy lifting or carrying hot dishes by hand. Kitchen duties are plating, cooking assistance and ingredient preparation, starting with small side dishes, and you also pick up cooking tips you can use at home. Your placement is decided after hiring based on your preference and aptitude. Part-time leaders called okami and hanako support new staff, and manuals covering menu explanations, recipes and plating are placed throughout the staff area. Shifts are submitted once a month, from 3 hours a day and 1 day a week, and weekday-only or weekend-only patterns are both possible. Weekend and public holiday shifts pay a higher hourly rate, and staff get 50 percent off meals when working 5 hours or more in a day. There is a 3-month trial period with no change in pay, and car, motorbike and bicycle commuting are all permitted with parking on site.
Wage:
1,180円 (per hour)
1,200円 or more if you can work some Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays; 1,180円 or more for weekday-only work. High school students: 1,150円 with some weekend shifts, 1,130円 for weekdays only. Weekend and public holiday rate rises to 1,300円 or more for general staff and 1,250円 or more for high school students. Late-night allowance (深夜手当 shinya-teate) of 25 percent extra for any hours worked after 22:00. Pay rise system. Overtime allowance and bonuses available.
