Job Description:
Join the opening team at a new hotel in Shijo-Karasuma, Kyoto, opening in November, working on guest room cleaning. Duties are cleaning rooms including rubbish collection, floors and bathrooms, bed making with sheet and pillowcase changes, restocking towels and amenities, and checking room supplies. This is back-of-house work with no customer service, so you go at your own pace and get the satisfaction of finishing each room. You move around a fair amount, so it keeps you active. Everyone starts at the same time and training (研修 kenshuu) covers everything from scratch, so people with no experience are fine. The shift is 10:00 to 15:00 with 5 hours of actual work, from 1 day a week, and weekday-only or weekend-only patterns are both possible. Transport allowance (交通費 koutsuuhi) covers a Kyoto City bus return fare per day, capped at the monthly commuter pass price. A uniform (制服 seifuku) is lent to you and hair colour and style are free. Communication between staff is mainly in Japanese.
Wage:
1,200円~1,300円 (per hour) Pay rise system. Example monthly earnings: 120,000 yen or more for 5 days a week at 5 hours a day, or 72,000 yen or more for 3 days a week, plus transport allowance.
