Job Description:

This is a kitchen support and dishwashing role at 御料理手打ち蕎麦谷越 (Oryori Teuchi Soba Tanigoe), a refined Japanese cuisine and hand-cut soba restaurant that opened in April 2024 on the banks of the Takase River in Nishikiyamachi, Kyoto, 5 minutes walk from Kyoto-Kawaramachi Station. The restaurant serves seasonal Japanese dishes with house-made soba as the finishing course; the dining room looks out over the Takase River from the second floor, creating a calm, atmospheric setting. Duties start with dishwashing and general kitchen cleanup, then expand gradually to include cooking assistance and food prep as you become familiar with the kitchen routine; beer barrel movement and similar light physical tasks are occasionally required. The shift runs from 11:00 to 15:00, Monday closed; a minimum of 4 hours per shift is accepted from 3 days per week, with no overtime. A 1-month trial period applies at 1,200円 per hour; the rate rises to up to 1,500円 based on experience and contribution thereafter. Pay can be received by cash in hand (手渡し tewatashi); transport allowance covers up to 500円 per working day. Foreign nationals must hold JLPT N2 or above; fluent Japanese including polite form is required as the clientele is predominantly Japanese.

Wage:
