Job Description:

Work at Sushiro, one of Japan's most popular conveyor belt sushi (回転寿司 kaiten-zushi) chains, at their Sendai Ichibancho branch in the Belmos Building basement. Hall staff guide customers to seats, serve drinks and dishes, and handle cashier duties (レジ reji); kitchen staff prepare sushi (shari rice is shaped by machine), handle washing up (洗い場 araiba), prep work, and rice cooking. Ordering and plate counting are automated, keeping the pace manageable even for first-timers. Shifts run from just 3 hours a day and 2 days a week via a shift system (シフト制 shifuto-sei) submitted weekly, making it straightforward to balance with school or other commitments. Weekend and public holiday shifts earn an extra 50 yen per hour, and the 30% staff meal discount applies on every working day. A scholarship scheme (奨学金制度 shougakukin-seido) is available for university students, subject to conditions. High school students and those under 18 may work until 22:00 only (Japanese labour law).

Wage:

1,200円 (per hour) Night premium (深夜手当 shinya-teate): 1,500 yen/hour from 22:00. Weekend and public holiday bonus (土日祝 donikyu): +50 yen/hour. High school student rate: 1,180 yen/hour (22:00 limit applies). Training period (研修 kenshuu, first 60 hours): general 1,150 yen/hour, night 1,438 yen/hour, high school students 1,130 yen/hour.
