Job Description:
This is a hall staff role at Chinese Restaurant Hokuryu (チャイニーズレストラン北竜), a beloved local Chinese restaurant with over 40 years of history in Wakabayashi-ku, Sendai, 4 minutes walk from Rokuchonome Station on the Sendai Subway Tozai Line. Hall staff welcome and seat customers, take orders, serve dishes to tables, and clear and clean tables after each sitting; cashier duties at the register (レジ reji) are also part of the role. Applicants who prefer kitchen work can request that position at interview -- both hall and kitchen roles are available and you can choose the one that suits you best. Two shift bands are available on a shift system (シフト制 shifuto-sei): a weekday dinner slot (17:00-21:00) and a weekend lunch slot (11:00-14:30); a minimum of 3 hours per shift and 1 day per week is accepted. The restaurant is closed every Wednesday (定休日 teikyu-bi: 水曜日 suiyoubi); shifts on all other days can be arranged around school, family, or a second job. Wages are paid cash in hand (手渡し tewatashi) and increase based on enthusiasm and tenure; no training-period reduction applies. Staff meals (まかない makanai) are provided during breaks and are praised by the team; full transportation allowance is paid on top of the hourly wage. Training (研修 kenshuu) and on-the-job support from senior staff are provided from day one so beginners can start with confidence.
