Job Description:
This is a hall staff role at Yayoi-ken Maebashi Otomo-machi store, a popular Japanese set-meal restaurant chain known for freshly cooked rice and miso soup, in Maebashi, Gunma. Duties include greeting and seating customers, checking meal tickets (食券 shokken), serving dishes to tables, clearing tables, and cleaning the dining area — no order-taking or register operation, as the store uses a ticket machine system. Beginners are actively welcomed; the work is designed so that a confident greeting and a smile are the only skills you need on day one, with full training and senior staff support from the start. Three shift patterns cover early morning, daytime, and evening; the late-night rate from 22:00 carries a 25% statutory premium (深夜手当 shinya-teate), and weekend and public holiday shifts earn an additional 50 yen per hour. Late-night shifts (22:00 onwards) are for applicants aged 18 and over only (Japanese labour law). Minimum contract period is 6 months, and maximum employment age is 65 years. Hair colour is unrestricted; shifts are submitted via smartphone app on a 2-week rolling basis.
