Job Description:

Ingredient inspection at a sweets factory in Naka, Hakata-ku, that makes sweet potato confectionery. You check baskets of sweet potatoes for any damaged items, wash off any that are dirty, then load the approved ones onto a trolley and take them through to the production room. A trainer works alongside you explaining how to tell good from bad and how to work through the batches, so no experience is needed. Hygiene training is given before you start, which helps if food manufacturing is new to you. Hours are 07:30 to 16:30 with a fixed lunch break from 11:00 and no overtime, leaving the evening free. Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays are normally off, with occasional Saturday work compensated by a weekday off, and two requested days off per month. An advance payment system (前払い maebarai) lets you draw earned wages, in some cases collected from a convenience store ATM the same day. The clean room is kept at 20 degrees, a hygiene uniform (制服 seifuku) is loaned and cleaned by the company, brown hair is allowed and staff buy the sweet potato products at under half price.
